tells the untold stories of dishwashers working in well-known restaurants across Montreal. Through intimate, first-person accounts and gritty visual storytelling, the film will unearth the deeper truths about a working-class economy of drifters, seekers and lost souls.
Synopsis
From famous restaurants to dirty dives, the most compelling human stories come from the dish-pit. Transients, drug addicts, college kids, immigrants, struggling musicians, dreamers and wanderers attempt to work in harmony with some of the world’s greatest chefs. From people trying to get their life together to people bent on raising hell around them, the dish pit creates an unusual cross-section of class and culture – one that lies just beyond the kitchen door of your favourite establishment.
